Reiki: Levels I-III
I am offering distance Reiki attunements to people who may not have an attuning Master in their area. Reiki is an energetic modality that has been used to treat stress and virtually every malady known to human kind.
How does it work? The answer is, we don't really know. Here is one theory that I like: As you know, we all have energy bodies that surround and penetrate our physical bodies. When we have negative thoughts about ourselves or our world, scabs form on those energy fields. What happens in the energy fields has a natural tendency to filter down into the physical body, thus causing disease. Reiki gently washes away the scabs, dealing with them at their source.
The only universal requirement for learning Reiki is that you have attunements. Right now you are like a radio between stations. You can get some sound, but mostly you are getting noise. The attunement is like turning the tuner knob so you can hear actual music. An attunement is passed down from Master to student and each goes all the way back to the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui.
Most traditions of Reiki have 3 Levels (Although, some have 4.). Here is a brief summary of what you will learn at each Level. This is how I prefer to teach through correspondence:
Level I: Here you learn to do a basic Reiki attunement. I handle this Level somewhat differently than some Reiki Masters. Instead of giving you one attunement here, I give you four, each targeting a different chakra.
Level II: You gain the ability to do mental/emotional treatments and also send Reiki over long distances (The distance attunement works on the same principle, we are just attuning in that case, rather than healing.).
Level III: This is the Master Level. The only difference between a Level III and a Level II is that a Level III can attune students. Although some people report an increase in the energy they are able to channel occurring at Level III.

Karuna Ki
Karuna Ki means Compassionate energy or as it is more appropriately "The Way of Compassionate Energy." It is healing and spreading the Compassion of the Creator to all, and all creation. It is "being" the Compassion of God, as St. Paul calls us to be, or as Kuan Yin personifies. "Karuna Ki is a heart centered healing. It is a loving, heart centered compassionate healing art. It works best when you focus on the loving compassion of all creation flowing through you.
"Compassionate Heart Reiki" is the term I use to describe it. Whether you conceptualize it in St. Paul's words where we are called to be the "Compassion of God," or the "Compassionate Heart of Jesus," or in the Buddhist practices of Kuan Yin, goddess of compassion, the net result is the same.
The attunement is performed with the intent of connecting to and becoming this "Compassion of God." They are truly loving and a blessing to do and to receive. In this, I think Karuna Ki is very specific in its understanding of what this compassion is. And it is not just compassion in healing others, but in spreading it throughout the world and universe in all that we do.
